Neon

Overview

Neon is a mixed-reality drawing app that allows the user to create personal neon designs, using either their hand or a controller to draw. With a mix of real-time lighting and reflections, the hope is that the artworks you will lovingly create will look like they really exist in your space.

This project was submitted as a part of the Meta Quest Presence Platform Hackathon 2024. I collaborated with Andrew Fox, who was the lead designer on the project

One of the main aspects of the app is the integration of realtime lighting and reflections. Using a custom shader along with scene perception, I was able to use the room's mesh to display these visuals.

I also implemented support for the Logitech MX Ink for enhanced precision and ergonomics when drawing. The pen allows for free drawing in the air or on any surface using the pressure sensitive tip and buttons
