Coal

turntable rendered in ZBrush

I decided to create this sculpt using my own dog, Coal as reference.

First, I made basic blockout to get the anatomy and overall sillhoutte down. I used pictures of Coal and other canine anatomy for reference

Then I connected the primitives together and added basic definition in the muscles. I also created and attached the first iteration of the head, and modelled the collar

Next was some refinements to the overall composition. I created more detailed version of the paws and readjusted the tail to better fit the piece's motion. Then I focused on enhancing the overall shape of the body and pose, and adjusted details on the face and muscles

Next, I used alphas to add additional detail. Some of the alphas were found on the ZBrush website, but I generated the rest using images of Coal's fur

Finally, I rendered the piece using ZBrush's BPR rendering and filters
